VISITING DANBAR
I encourage anyone considering bringing a dog into their life to do the single most important step in the process - research what breed meshes with YOUR situation and personality. Experts agree that the single most common reason dogs are dumped at shelters or rescues is incompatability between dog and owner.
Shelters and rescues don't offer this opportunity. Staff at these facilities have little to no information about a specific animal's all important genetic and/or behavioral history. Nor can they offer life time mentoring of medical and behavioral issues inherent in each breed. Today, some shelters are even adopting what they call "marketing" ploys which include keeping unfavorable facts about a dog's behavior from potential purchasers and denying that specific breeds have specific behavioral traits! Buyer beware!
I welcome visitors to spend as much time as needed with adult representatives of your breed of interest, to see if this is TRULY the dog for you. Nobody wins if the wrong dog ends up in the wrong home!
I am located in Goldendale, Washington, about one hour from Yakima, Washington or The Dalles, Oregon.
WAITING LIST
Pups are sold on a "waiting list" basis. This means that if you decide one of my pups will be the right fit for you, you will place a $400 deposit to hold your pup. If you are the first to place a deposit, you will have first pick, second to place the deposit, second pick. All pups (of same breed) are the same price (no "pick puppy price") because it is impossible to tell how young puppies will turn out. Please read the CONTRACT to learn about refunding of deposits.
WHY DANBAR PUPS ARE SPECIAL!
My goal is to produce the soundest, healthiest pups possible. It doesn't cost that much more to abide by ethical breeding practices. DanBar puppies are placed at eight weeks of age. This is the optimum age for the puppy to bond with its new family. Your puppy will come with AKC registration. In some cases, if a pup has issues which render it unfit for breeding, it will be placed with "limited registration". I do not sell puppies with serious defects that will affect its quality of life; they are humanely euthanized.
ALL pups will come with a microchip, which will remain in your and my name for the life of the pet in case of emergency. Too many people forget to update their information when they move, so I keep the information as a backup for the safety of the pup.
Pups are also sold on a "return policy". ALL pups, if no longer able to be kept by the owner or their family, are to be returned to DanBar Ranch. Ethical breeder's dogs do NOT end up with flippers, in shelters or rescues. Period!
The view at DanBar Ranch. My dogs enjoy perfect freedom on a fully fenced 20 acres. No dogs are ever kept in crates here!

Pups are sold by reservation. A reservation is made by putting down a deposit. This makes it easier for me to tell people if there will be pups available.
You are encouraged to fill out the application, call me and paypal the deposit to hold your place. I breed a very limited number of pups per year and they are spoken for before they are even born.
Just talking to me by phone or email does NOT hold a pup. Thank you for understanding!
