DanBar Ranch Dobermans

The "Bottom Line"

I offer reasonably priced, health tested, sound, authentic dogs and life long mentoring. I owned my first Doberman in 1977, titled my first Doberman in schutzhund in 1981.  Dobermans are my passion and my hobby - not my source of income.  I represent them honestly. Though I am VERY proud of my dogs, I will not tell you my dogs "walk on water" or are some sort of uber-super dog, nor will I put ridiculous prices on them to make you think they are "Wonder Dogs". They are simply health tested, well bred, sound, intelligent dogs bred to be REAL Dobermans and raised the very best my lifetime of experience and devotion to dogs allows me to.  And they look damn good too!
The Doberman's reason for being: developed as a serious dog for use by soldiers and police. And, one of the most successful until ruined by show and pet breeders.

PLEASE READ:

Dobermans are expensive dogs. They always have been. Their breeding requires much more of the breeder than most other breeds. This is due to not only the cropping and docking which is done, but because careless breeders have (and continue) to breed Dobermans which are either NOT HEALTH TESTED AT ALL, or that carry or are affected by disease. The cost to keep yearly health testing current on breeding Dobermans is what pushes the price so high.  Tests for the deadly DCM disease can run a breeder HUNDREDS OF DOLLAR PER DOG PER YEAR!

If you are looking for a bargain, this breed is not for you. You may get lucky, but it becomes rarer everyday to find a healthy Doberman. Until breeding practices change and people stop making excuses about why they don't test or do test and breed affected dogs, this breed will remain expensive.

Take Away: Don't pay a big price for a Doberman if the breeder can't SHOW YOU the health test results on the OFA site and DNA paperwork.
